Had a fun time on Saturday night at a superhero themed birthday party. Had more pulling the ‘portable studio’ (read: my camera, a big-ass light, and a bedsheet as a backdrop) and setting up shop in the garage…

This is my Mom. For those who don’t know she’s a totally amazing potter (and artist in general), a person who several years ago I figured out that she’s way cooler than me. She also was unfortunate enough to be in town the day after I received my first studio light (Alienbee B800) and a 47 inch octagonal softbox (octobox). I had to take a picture of someone, and she happened to be sitting in my living room with a tiny laptop in her lap doing what all Moms seem to do these days (Facebook).

Happy Birthday Mom! It was good seeing you again and had fun seeing Avatar last night in 3D with you and Dad!

Sometimes I just ramble on IM, while waiting for servers to reboot or whatever. It passes the time. This is a conversation with Justin D - notice that he never responded (he was marked away) and how it’s three different times I rambled.

Some Studio Work

This is something that I rarely do, shoot people in a studio setting. A couple of weeks ago while in Washington, NC taking a few days off we did a photo shoot of Carrie, who had never modeled before. This session was the first of probably many for another project. Methinks this is something that I want to get more into, I had a lot of fun and am generally satisfied with the results that I got.

Sick of the Pills

I carry bunches of these pills everywhere that I go, I have to take a couple every time I eat. They help my body digest food, something it cannot do by itself. Without them, painful times in the bathroom and weight loss occur.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m thankful we have the technology to create these things but it sucks having to think about this stuff all of the time.

Seen at the Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco while I was there for a conference last week. Somehow I think that this is my favorite image from the trip - I didn’t take many as I was really busy most of the time while I was there.
