Men of Letters

Mercury

My pals Justin Dohrmann and Brett Miller, who went to college together, have been working on what Justin calls an “unusual project”. I’ll just go ahead and quote Justin here:

Men of Letters is an unusual project I’ve been working on with my friend Brett Miller. The original intent was to create creative, versatile music that could be used in a commercial setting (video games, film, TV, etc.) but I think it went a bit beyond our original intentions.

This is very different stuff for both Brett and myself and we’re excited to be making music that is so drastically different from what we are both typically comfortable with. Please check it out.

I even had a part in it, they asked me if they can use images of mine for the album art - which I was honored to say yes and send them the files. It’s cool to see my photography being used in a way like this, especially for friends. It was taken last December on a very foggy day down on the waterfront in Washington, NC.

Rather than try to describe the music, I suggest anyone reading to give them a listen using the app below, clicking on their name will take you to the bandcamp site where you can download the tracks, perhaps throw a few dollars their way for their efforts.

We aren’t planning a physical CD release. We’re trying to see what this bandcamp.com site can do. We have a feature set so that people can pay us whatever they want to pay us, and the minimum is set to $0 so if you just want to download it for nothing, you can do that, but if you want to pay us a few bucks for it, you can do that too. Bandcamp doesn’t take any % of the download sales, the only money we lose is from Paypal transaction fees so it’s a pretty cool setup.
