First of all, our city “threw out” several of these planters that used to be downtown. My folks now have two of them which they filled half of pebbles, then dirt on top of that, then planted this beach grass stuff with some colorful annuals and a solar light on each container to make beautiful driveway entrances. Talk about awesome recycling. Those containers are heavy and well formed.
Anyway, this image reminds me of my fascination (which I have not been keeping up with) of garbage piles. Remember NYC and my fascination with the trash? The image of the trash at Coney Island almost makes me cry when I see it knowing now that that staple of Americana is gone.
