Holga Double Exposure Collaboration

beach and desert

I forgot where I got the idea, but I wanted to do a collaboration with somebody where I take a roll of film on my Holga, wind it back as if it has not been exposed and send the roll to somebody to take the pictures again. A good friend of mine, Ryan, was the perfect person for me to try my first one with. For starters, he’s a Holga shooter. Secondly, he is incredibly creative and talented. Lastly, he lives in Phoenix - which is great contrast to the oceanfront city where I live. I think most of them came out great - so unpredictable!

Ryan uploaded the whole roll to flickr - check the rest out here. This is something that I want to do more - not always typical settings like beach and desert but whatever!

I love these shots - what a great idea. I did something similar to this in photography class in high school, but mine was an accident :-) Much better with two locations blended. Nice!!!
