My NYC Trip

I had a great time in New York last week. Drew is a great host, the city is a great place to spend a few days. It was very inspiring for a photography enthusiast, and six days is the perfect amount of time to stay.

One of the things I like about the place is you can get off of the subway in Brooklyn and see this:

The Store

Turn around 180 degrees to see this stapled to a plywood wall:

Shows!

You can then walk 10 minutes to this peacefulness (Prospect Park):

Prospect Park

Then walk a few minutes from there to see this piece of history (that I wish I framed better):

The Soldiers' and Sailors' Arch

I’ve gotten all of the negatives and slides scanned in - my flickr set is available to you by clicking here, or you can view a slideshow by clicking here.

Enjoy! Let me know what you think of them. I know they aren’t all masterpieces, but there are a few gems in there. The important thing to me is that I had a lot of fun and learned a lot in the process.

Good slideshow. Light, color, grit, and humanity….a nice juicy slice of ground-level NY! I’m a big fan, Joe. When are you going to start doing your own darkroom?

    Thanks Aunt Barbara!

Getting the equipment to develop my own C-41 and E6 is on my list (not much interest in black and white), though after a few other big purchases (longer lens, better digital camera, and a real film scanner to name the biggies).

Thanks for the slide show, Joe! I feel like I’ve been there! Good stuff!
