Routines Can Make for Bad Habits

Bad Habits

In the mornings I usually take my coffee (which is most likely the third cup) with me on the way to the shower. I set it down in my closet (I walk through closet to get to bathroom) and finish it after the shower while I’m getting dressed. For some lazy reason I leave that cup in the closet, only to get collected for the dishwasher when I’m running out of cups.

It does make for an uninteresting photo with a semi-interesting line along the top of the cups - along with the harshness of the built-in flash. I need to get a better flash.

You don’t necessarily need a better flash. You need a flash diffusor. You can put it on your speed flash. Check ‘em out.

(i’ve used scotch tape as a diffusor and it worked)

You can make one out of a milk carton too

    A couple of thoughts.

What flash do you have? Onboard or speed?
When you took that pic did you have the flash pointing right at the mugs or was it arched to hit the ceiling and bounce?
Is there a reason you used the flash and not the ambiant light of the room?
Have you considered one of these? The user reviews aren’t that great but I have several photographer friends that use Westcott and love it.

Whatever, that’s disgusting, at least I don’t put my dirty dishes in the closet (although that would be a good way of not having to wash them) hmm!

Drew, all I have is the built in flash. Can’t point it anywhere. That’s why I need a better flash.

Hey, Joe, I like it. The artist in you sees the lines; the hangers line up well, too. Great perspective. I am enjoying the photos you share, just keep shooting. By the way, I can barely get a hand in my closet, much less a coffee cup. Love you!
