Defense against a stupid ticket

Dear Sir or Madam:

On December 13, 2005, my car was parked on the 3600 block of Prospect St NW overnight. In the morning when I got into the car I noticed a ticket on the windshield. Upon examination I found that this ticket was for not having a front license plate. This car is registered in North Carolina, where they do not issue front license plates. Because of North Carolina not even having front license plates I don’t see how I can be ticketed for not having one.

Thanks

This is the letter that the adjudication services in Washington, DC is getting from me regarding a retarded ticket.

(i originally wrote about this ticket here.)

dude. that IS a stupid ticket. the cop was probably on crack. hey .. i like that pic of you me and frank - can you send it to me?

I would call the number on the ticket or talk to the clerk of court that handles parking tickets or at least talk to the issueing officers commanding oficer. I would not pay the ticket because it was writen in error and unless The district of Columbia can convince NC to issue front plates there is no way you can comply with that law. I would do all I could to not pay that one it is just plain wrong. At least ask the CO to train the cops to waqlkto the back of the car and see what state issued the plates and if it is not a DC plate dont write the ticket.

they knew that it was north carolina because they had my license plate number and state listed on the ticket! i called every number on the back of the ticket and there seems to be no possible way to talk to a human. so i followed directions and mailed off the ‘deny’ with the above letter.
