Website SPAM???
I hate SPAM. You hate SPAM. We all hate SPAM. When we think of SPAM, we think email. That’s the most common form of SPAM. Of course there is snail-mail SPAM, which I hate even worse because it uses actual tree-killing paper. At work I manage the mail relay server, which catches tons of SPAM before it makes it to the Exchange email server. Still more gets through.
Now that I’m doing web-work, I thought that I was done dealing with SPAM. I was wrong. Some bot has found this website and starting leaving SPAM comments on random posts. For a few days this was irritating because I kept having to delete these comments. Luckily, I found a great WordPress plugin called WP-Blacklist that looks for certain expressions and will hold them for moderation if the name, email, or uri contains certain pre-defined expressions. It works great. So, Online Poker man, leave another comment. Make my day!
UPDATE - as soon as I posted this, I noticed there was already a comment there! What had happened was a comment was left to a non-existant post (#29, which is now this post) and as soon as I posted it the comment was already there! Crazy… Well at least any future comments won’t show up.
i am your poker KING! don’t try and take me down. your small brain cannot keep me behind the cyber doors. i will find a secret hatch sooner or later. your move!
Ha! It just trapped the first SPAM postings, three of them. Great plugin, great plugin…
